PRODESIGN INNOVATION

Prodesign Innovation is the R&D arm of Prodesign and is led by Vikram Bhujun.

Our mission is to combat climate change.
We are creating products and services that will improve efficiency, use clean energy and reduce waste.

Backed with our 25 years of engineering knowhow, we develop prototypes which are ready and tested for mass production.

Investors are welcome to contact us for partnering.

ELECTRIC MOBILITY.

The main cause of climate change is burning fossil fuels such as oil, gas and coal. They are by far the largest contributor to global climate change, accounting for over 75 % of global greenhouse gas emissions and nearly 90 % of all carbon dioxide emissions (UN).

Transport is one of the most pollutant sectors: it provides more than a quarter of greenhouse gas emissions, according to the latest study from the European Environment Agency (AEMA).

Replacing fuel combustion vehicles with electric vehicles is one of the best alternatives in order to reduce CO2 emissions and fight climate change.

We are working to make real the transition of our transport system to a cleaner model of mobility  which in addition to contributing to fight climate change, will help to improve people’s quality of life.

We are researching into the development of small and light electric vehicles which can be used as last mile transportation or short distances utility vehicles.

Electric Scooter.

Since 2021, we have been researching and prototyping several models of electric scooter which can be used as the last mile transportation. Two prototypes are ready and under testing phase.

Production shall begin in early 2023.

COMING SOON.

We are also developing and prototyping

Electric Cargo Scooter

CLEAN FARMING.

Farming relies on the use of pesticides, chemical fertilisers and water. 70 % of our global fresh water is used in agriculture. Excessive use of chemicals is polluting our environment and a major concern to our health. A high prevalence of cancer has been associated with exposure to pesticides in the vegetables we consume.
We are researching on how new technologies can help in making agriculture cleaner. Its not only about organic farming, but how to ensure our food security in the future, in face of climate change.
Vertical indoor farm using high pressure aeroponics and IoT.

This project was partially funded by the Mauritius Research and Innovation Council in 2021. we developed an indoor vertical farm which uses a custom designed lighting system that delivers a lighting recipe for the optimal growth of baby leaves and microgreens.

The grow lights were designed and prototyped by our Engineers and manufactured in China.

This farm can produce high quality and highly nutritious salads by using 60% less water than traditional hydroponics system and without the use of any harmful chemicals.

This research project was completed in July 2022.

Containerised Farm

We are currently working on the development of connected mobile containerised farms.

These farms shall be all connected to our IoT platform where data on plant growth from hundreds of farms shall be captured on the IoT platform, analysed, using AI to improve yield and food safety. We aim to make these farm as autonomous as possible, through the application of machine learning, to have them running by themselves, with the least human intervention possible.

Development of energy efficient grow lights

We are continuing the research to develop other indoor farming lighting for optimal growth and high yield of strawberries, tomatoes, capsicum and other fruiting plants. We are running many planting trials to develop the best spectrum using various LED colour combinations. Our experiment are on leafy greens and some flowering and fruit bearing plants.

DIGITAL CONSTRUCTION.

Digital construction reduces waste and inefficiency.

It is improving design and design teams coordination, identifying problems before construction, reducing materials and labour waste on site.  Digital tools like BIM, Virtual reality, augmented reality and construction digital twins shall change the way buildings shall be designed, constructed, operated and maintained.

We have been doing extensive research and development in the use of digital tools in construction and developed a few innovative solutions that are helping our clients build better and quicker.
Automated BIM coordination process.

We are researching on automating design verification process on BIM. Through coding we are able to automatically check fire code compliance, streamline clash detection.

Integration of VR and AR With BIM.

We have been able to integrate BIM with Augmented reality on a small area. BIM models can be superimposed in a room and allow contractors to build complex plant rooms exactly, reducing waste and time. We are further working on applying  this technology on larger spaces, with larger models.

Construction Digital Twin.

We are working to improve building design, construction and operations through the study of digital twins. This is a project co-funded by the Mauritius Research and Innovations Council. We have already developed our IoT platform which is collecting and analysing data from IoT sensors and devices installed.

Interactive user manual.

We have produced an interactive user guide for building owners. This guide is easy to use and contains information on how to operate and maintain installation through an interactive web browser.

04.

CONSTRUCTION PROCUREMENT PLATFORM.

We are developing an online procurement platform for the construction industry which will provide more opportunities to contractors and suppliers.

Client will be able to launch bids online and receive more competitive bids.

Bidding can be open or selective and the application shall automatically analyse bids received based on a set of criterial defined by client.

Contractors and suppliers will have access to more bids and increase their bidding success rate.
